With the aide of what appears to be a letter angel, you trek through the evil using the powers of words to get through. You are a composition of a few letters that fell, with the goal to escape your fate as an error. All the mistakes we make at the keyboard are thrown into the pits of destruction that resembles an industrialised hell. So Typoman takes place in a dark and dreary world where letters go to die. Is it worth exploring the horrors you throw all those typos into or should you rather look away? Here is our review for Typoman: Revised. Now the developers at Brainseed Factory are taking advantage of the Nintendo SwitchвЂ™s booming popularity and are releasing Typoman once again. A вЂњRevisedвЂќ edition came a year later with ports being rolled out over time. The game was in the vein of Limbo, taking on the dark stylised puzzle platformer that became a pillar of the downloadable game. Typoman originally came out close to three years ago in 2015. However, what if that only second long mistake actually goes to a much darker place? This is the scenario put forward by Typoman. Yet do we ever think where that odd little letter that was born from a mistake goes? The realist will call it nothing but data being thrown away, only to exist at that moment.

Time to get serious about word puns.Have you ever wondered what happens to all those typos you correct? Those moments where muscle memory is off by just a centimetre leaving a harsh red line sticking out of the white screen? It is a natural occurrence and an almost too common one as the keyboard became second nature. Typoman is heading to a multitude of platforms including new-gen consoles. Typoman is being developed by Brainseed Factory and published by German Headup Games a fairly new player on the international scene that is looking to publish interesting indie projects in much the same way as say Devolver Digital or Ripstone. One of the great things about Limbo was that it seldom repeated puzzles and kept up the variation throughout - remains to be seen if Typoman can maintain the same level of clever and inventive puzzles for the entirety of the experience. Clearly it's got lots of potential, and we're certainly curious to see what kind of variation you can build with this brand of puzzles. In Cologne we were given a brief (under 10 minutes) glimpse of the start of Typoman. This contrast is at the heart of the experience. There is something immediately appealing about Typoman, something playful that clashes with serious tone of the visuals and the harsh nature of the fonts. However, the unique and concept of Typoman certainly lends it more than enough personality to avoid being confused with anything else. The Limbo comparison is not just down to the fact that it's a physics based puzzle platformer, but the black and white artstyle also reminds us of the Danish indie hit. The silly nature of the puns and that fact that you can think of solutions for each puzzle from two directions - both by thinking of the words and how you can change them, and by thinking of the physical action that needs to happen - means that the risk of getting stuck decreases and on some occasions you will feel twice rewarded for clearing an obstacle. In a way Typoman is Limbo meets Scrabble as it combines the foundation of a physics based puzzle platformer with a clever use of word puzzles. By completing a platform section you could swing the letter d in front of rain and he puddle would drain.

Our hero is made up of ink and as such his letters dissolve in water so you need to find a way to clear the puddle. One example of this was a puddle of water that had a cloud over it with the word 'rain'.
